A 38-year-old motorcycle courier was killed with machete blows early this Friday morning (13), in Bauru, after breaking into the apartment of his ex-wife, who was with her current partner, a 26-year-old stocker. According to the police report (BO), the intruder attacked the resident with a metal pipe and, claiming self-defense, the latter chased him and hit him several times with a machete in the common area of the condominium. The man did not resist and died at the scene and the perpetrator of the blows was arrested in flagrante delicto.
The incident occurred around 6 am, in a residential area in Jardim da Grama, in the Jardim Nova Esperança region. According to the police report, the woman had been in a romantic relationship with the motorcycle courier for two years, but the two broke up about three months ago and, three weeks ago, she was reportedly in a stable relationship with the stocker.
This week, upon discovering that his ex was in a relationship with someone else, the motorcycle courier allegedly threatened and insulted her. This Friday, during the early hours of the morning, around 4 am, when the couple was returning from an outing with friends, he insulted her again and threatened to kill her, but ended up being attacked by locals and thrown out of the condominium. However, according to the police report, he returned around 6 am, broke down the door of his ex-wife's apartment and, armed with a piece of metal pipe, attacked her current partner with blows to the head. The two men got into a physical fight and then the warehouse worker armed himself with a machete, causing the delivery boy to flee. The resident chased him down the stairs and, once outside, began to strike him several times. The woman tried to stop him, but the attacks only stopped when the victim was already unconscious. The death was confirmed by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) team at the scene and the Scientific Police were called to carry out the forensic examination. The warehouse worker hid in a wooded area behind the residential complex, afraid of being lynched by the motorcycle courier's family, but he called the police to report his location and was arrested. After being treated at the Central Emergency Room (PSC), he was taken to the police station and charged with murder, and was placed at the disposal of the courts. The metal pipe and the machete were seized for examination.
