Wallace Marriel, 21, was shot dead and a 13-year-old teenager was injured during an attack on a bar in the Bela Vista neighborhood of Colatina, in the northwest of Espírito Santo, on Thursday night (10/31).
According to the Military Police, Wallace was hit by five shots. Although he was rescued and taken to the Silvio Avidos State Hospital, he did not survive his injuries. The teenager was taken to the São José Hospital and is not in danger of dying.
Images from a security camera show Wallace talking behind the bar counter when the suspect pulls out his gun and fires several times. A woman, next to him, tries to protect a child she is carrying in her arms.
In a statement to the police, the teenager said that he was with Wallace when the suspect entered the bar and started shooting. So far, no one has identified the shooter.
According to the police report, Wallace had a police record for drug trafficking. The Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Unit (DHPP) of Colatina is investigating the case. The body was sent to the Regional Section of Legal Medicine, of the Scientific Police.
