A store employee shot two armed robbery suspects Tuesday night in New Orleans East, leaving one suspect dead and another in custody, according to police.
Police say two individuals attempted to rob the business when a worker in the store, armed with a gun, confronted them.
The employee fired at both suspects, striking them. One suspect, a juvenile, was taken to the hospital where he later died. The second, 18-year-old Teony Juarez, was arrested by officers.
Juarez was booked on four felony counts including armed robbery, armed robbery with a gun, aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal use of a weapon.
